Project Description

This project for 4700BC Gourmet Snacks explores two distinct visual directions, one focused on richness and indulgence, and the other on functionality and everyday ease, both built within a consistent visual system.
For Nutty Tuxedo, the approach was to push the product into a more premium, dessert-like space. The focus was on depth, texture, and richness, using close-up compositions and controlled lighting to highlight the layered coating and surface detail of the popcorn. The chocolate flow became a central element, designed to feel thick, smooth, and satisfying, adding movement while reinforcing the indulgent quality of the product. The overall tone was warm, cinematic, and refined, positioning the product as something more considered and gift-worthy rather than a regular snack
In contrast, Microwave Popbox was approached from a more functional and accessible perspective. The goal here was to highlight the product’s usability and innovation, turning a familiar microwave snack into a cleaner, more intuitive experience. The visuals were kept brighter and more open, with a yellow-orange palette to reflect energy and approachability. Motion played a key role, especially in showcasing the popping process and the transformation of the packaging into a serving container. Instead of depth and heaviness, the focus was on clarity, ease, and interaction.
From a production standpoint, the project blends real footage and CGI to maintain realism while allowing full control over key moments, particularly in the chocolate interactions and popcorn simulations. Each direction was developed with its own visual language, while still feeling part of the same brand ecosystem.

NUTTY TUXEDO

For this project, I wanted to push the product more towards a rich, dessert-style visual instead of just a regular snack.
For the close-up popcorn shots, I used real factory footage to capture that natural texture and detail; you just can’t fake that level of realism easily. After that, the entire chocolate drip and product moments were built in 3D, where I had full control over the look, flow, and lighting.
The idea was to blend real and CGI in a seamless way so it doesn’t feel stitched. The chocolate pour was the hero element, designed to feel thick, smooth, and satisfying, something that instantly makes you crave the product.
From there, I built out the full ad film along with multiple compositions to showcase the pack, textures, and serving shots, all under a consistent warm and premium visual tone.
